What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request? The defects involve multiple electronic control systems, including steering, braking, and airbag modules, which continue to generate active and stored Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) even after the May 2, 2023 recall repair. The vehicle remains in our possession and is available for inspection upon r
... equest. 2. How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? Because the vehicle fails to illuminate dashboard warnings, we were unaware of critical malfunctions occurring in real time while driving. This creates the risk of sudden failure in steering, braking, or airbag deployment, directly endangering both occupants and the public. 3. Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? Yes. Independent diagnostic scans repeatedly confirmed active and stored DTCs following the recall repair. These findings show the defects are reproducible and ongoing. 4. Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives, or others? The vehicle was inspected by Kia’s authorized dealer, Spradley Motors in Pueblo, CO, for the recall repair. Since then, diagnostic evaluations have been performed by independent service providers. Documentation of these inspections is attached. 5. Were there any warning lamps, messages, or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? No dashboard warning lamps illuminated, even though faults were recorded internally by the vehicle’s control modules. The absence of warnings despite active codes is itself the central safety issue. I am experiencing an issue with the airbag light on my 2017 Nissan Altima S model, which is showing code B0020. This airbag code indicates a problem with the passenger side airbag system, typically caused by damaged wiring, a malfunctioning seat sensor, or a loose connector beneath the driver's seat. The repair quote from my local Nissan dealership ranges from $1728 to $3500, depending on the faul
... ty components and the labor required for installation. This is a recognized problem for Nissan, and their failure to address it raises significant concerns regarding safety. Currently, I am uncertain about how to proceed with the repair due to the high costs involved.Read more

I am writing to demand a recall for a widespread and well-documented defect involving the sunroof drain lines in the Lexus GX460. Owners across multiple model years report that these drains frequently clog, disconnect, or deteriorate, resulting in severe water intrusion into the cabin. This defect is more than an inconvenience. Water intrusion routinely damages the headliner, carpets, and—most
... concerning—the electrical systems routed under the dash and along the floorboards. Owners have documented failures including: Electrical shorts in junction boxes and harnesses near the driver footwell. Burnt circuits in side mirrors and modules after water exposure. Malfunctioning sensors, warning lights, and throttle response issues directly linked to water entry. Mold growth and corrosion under the dash from standing water. Supporting Evidence from Owners & Forums: GX460 owners have documented water intrusion from clogged drains causing shorts in wiring harnesses and electrical boards. In one case, water damage burned side mirror circuits and caused multiple dashboard warnings. (Source: JustAnswer Lexus mechanic) On ClubLexus forums, GX owners describe water pooling in the driver’s footwell after rain, traced to faulty sunroof drains. Reports include electrical shorts in junction boxes near the brake pedal caused by clogged or misrouted drains. Reddit and Facebook discussions highlight mold growth, electrical malfunctions, and expensive repairs after water bypassed drainage and entered beneath the dash. Safety Concerns: While Lexus may view water leaks as cosmetic, the resulting electrical failures compromise critical safety systems. Airbags, sensors, warning lights, and throttle response have all been reported as affected. These failures present clear safety hazards for drivers and passengers. Request for Action: Lexus should issue a recall to correct the defective sunroof drainage design in GX460 models, and cover all related repairs and reimburse owners.Read more

Component/System failed: The electronic control module (ECM) and related wiring were compromised by a dealer-installed Lojack anti-theft system. The device was spliced into wiring near the airbag system and ECM, causing repeated faults. The component remains in the vehicle and is available for inspection. Safety risks: 1. Wiring near airbags may interfere with deployment. 2. ECM faults risk stall
... ing, loss of power, or emissions failure. 3. Hidden wiring increases short-circuit risk, especially near coolant areas. 4. These conditions place driver and passenger safety at risk. Problem confirmation & inspections: The issue has been reproduced in multiple dealer visits. One Toyota dealer identified the improper Lojack installation as the likely root cause. Service records are available. Warning lamps: Yes. Check engine lights and warning messages appeared within months of purchase and continue intermittently. Summary: The car was sold as a Toyota Gold Certified Pre-Owned (CPO) vehicle, advertised as thoroughly inspected and protected. In reality, it contained an undisclosed modification that created hidden defects, repeated ECM errors, and safety concerns. Concern: The ECM is covered by the 8-year/80,000-mile federal emissions warranty and the 7-year/100,000-mile Gold CPO warranty. Yet Toyota denied my arbitration claim as “ineligible.” If such cases are refused, it means dealers can install aftermarket systems, charge buyers, and avoid accountability. In that situation, the Toyota Gold CPO program becomes meaningless—a consumer deception rather than protection. Request: I respectfully ask NHTSA to investigate whether dealer-installed systems like Lojack pose systemic safety risks and whether Toyota’s warranty and arbitration processes are adequately protecting consumers.Read more

I spoke with the local dealership on Friday, and they recommended that I reach out directly to Audi. I contacted Audi, answered all of their questions, sent photos and the police report. This is the response I received from them today, 9/22: "Our engineer has completed the review of all the documentation you provided. Here is his assessment: Damage to this vehicle is to sheet metal and composite material components of the hood, fender, headlight, bumper cover, and radiator core support. The impact is offset to the right, outside the bumper reinforcement system with no apparent damage or longitudinal compression of the bumper deformation elements or frame long members. The progressive deformation of the components listed above absorbs crash energy over a longer period of time, lowering the vehicles rate of deceleration below the threshold criteria for airbag deployment. This vehicle performed as designed." I do not believe this is accurate because there was smoke inside the car, and now the airbag light is illuminated.Read more

THIS FIRST PORTION OF THE DESCRIPTION IF AN ENGLISH TRANSLATION FROM THE LATTER PART, WHICH WAS RECEIVED IN SPANISH. Complaint to NHTSA – Unresolved Recall on 2021 Toyota Camry I own a used 2021 Toyota Camry purchased from an authorized Toyota dealer. After purchase, I discovered that the vehicle has an open recall related to the airbag system. According to information from NHTSA, there is cur

The vehicle makes a constant daily noise, apparently related to the problem reported in the recall, which increases my distrust in the car's safety. 2. The dealership did not inform me before purchase about the existence of this active, unrepaired recall, which I consider a serious lack of transparency and a safety risk to consumers. This puts me in a situation of road safety concerns, as I am driving a vehicle that does not meet minimum safety standards due to a defect recognized by the manufacturer, but with no available remedy. I request that NHTSA: Investigate the case and confirm whether Toyota and the dealership are complying with their notification and transparency obligations. Demand that the manufacturer provide a clear and timely solution to this recall, as consumers should not be driving a defective vehicle without alternatives. Strengthen consumer protection mechanisms so that no dealership can sell vehicles with open recalls and no repairs available without explicitly informing the buyer. I trust that NHTSA can intervene, as this is a public safety risk that affects not only me as the owner, but also my passengers and other drivers on the road. para NHTSA – Recall sin solución en Toyota Camry 2021 Soy propietario de un Toyota Camry 2021 (usado) adquirido en un concesionario oficial de Toyota. I purchased my 2014 Ford Edge in December 2023. March 2023, I started having issues with the driver side door lock sensor malfunction as shown in the last photo. The door would not automatically lock when I started driving, sensing that the driver’s side door was still open. It was not. I kept pushing the lock button to lock it, but it kept unlocking even while driving. Eventually it would lock.
... The cost to fix that was around $600 which I could not afford, and my limited warranty expired. July/August 2025 my ABS and traction control sensor lights were lit on my dash. I took the car for service and my very reputable mechanic diagnosed with no codes showing up a few times. Performed a reset twice and the lights came back on after only driving a couple of miles. He contacted Ford who advised he couldn't sell the part because there was a "national hold" on the part. On 9/2 my brakes and traction control failed resulting me rear ending another vehicle. The other safety issue is that my airbags did not deploy upon the collision. I contacted Ford Corporation and was advised that Ford will not do anything since my vehicle was older than 10 years. The vehicle is a total loss leaving me with a loan balance of approximately $4,700.00. This is neither fair nor right for a multimillion-dollar company that will not or choose not to address or acknowledge their responsibility regarding these two very serious safety issues. Since I didn’t die or get seriously hurt, I guess it’s not that big a deal to Ford.Read more

I got into a car accident in 08/28/25 @8:30pm and on impact I was going about 50-55mph and not a single one of my air bags came out. I also know that there are no recalls on my vehicle for air bags.
