The airbag warning light has remained illuminated since I acquired the vehicle in January 2025. The warning light stays on continuously and does not reset. This indicates a fault in the airbag system, and I have been advised that when this light is on, the airbags may be disabled and may not deploy in a crash. The vehicle has also experienced ongoing electrical problems, including lighting failur
... es, blown fuses, and shift-interlock malfunctions, which suggests an electrical system fault affecting multiple safety-related systems. These issues create concern that the airbag control system may be impacted by the same electrical malfunction. The vehicle has not been repaired or diagnosed by a dealer for the airbag issue. The condition is still present and the warning light remains illuminated. This failure creates a serious safety risk because the airbags may not function in the event of a collision.Read more

While driving, the vehicle began experiencing repeated electrical failures including blown fuses, inoperative headlights and brake lights, and the transmission becoming locked in PARK. When the fuse blows, the gear shift cannot be moved out of PARK and the ignition key cannot be removed, leaving the vehicle stuck and unable to be driven or safely turned off. The brake lights and daytime running li
... ghts also stop working, making the vehicle unsafe to operate in traffic. This condition has been occurring repeatedly and requires frequent fuse replacement just to move or shut off the vehicle. An emergency override hole on the shifter had already been exposed, indicating the problem existed before and the vehicle was previously being forced out of PARK manually. A tow truck driver had to use this override to move the vehicle. The airbag warning light is also illuminated, indicating the safety restraint system may not function properly in a crash. These failures create a serious safety risk due to loss of exterior lighting, inability to shift, inability to turn the ignition off, and possible airbag malfunction. This failure is consistent with a known defect involving the Daytime Running Light (DRL) module overheating and causing electrical shorts, as documented in manufacturer recall and technical service bulletins for this vehicle. The problem has been reproduced multiple times and remains unresolved.Read more

I was involved in a low-speed collision at a residential intersection after stopping at a stop sign and beginning to proceed. Going under 5 mph, I braked immediately, but contact occurred. I was driving to work in my 2022 Ford Bronco Sport when traffic ahead of me stopped suddenly. I was able to come to a complete stop. The vehicle behind me did not see the stopped traffic until the last second and rear-ended my vehicle at an estimated speed of approximately 50 mph. The impact was severe enough that my vehicle was pushed forward into the car in front of me, resulting in a multi-vehi

I sustained serious injuries in this crash and continue to experience long-term, life-altering effects. Given the force of the collision and the extent of the damage, I am concerned about why the airbag system did not deploy and whether there may be a defect in the airbag or crash sensor system. I am submitting this complaint so the incident can be reviewed and investigated to determine whether this presents a broader safety issue.Read more

On November 15, I was traveling with my mother and seated in the front passenger seat of a 2023 Kia Sportage while she was driving approximately 65 mph on the interstate when the vehicle struck a deer. The impact caused significant front-end damage, including the bumper, radiator area, and underbody components. I was wearing a seatbelt. Despite the severity of the collision and the high rate of s
... peed, neither the driver nor passenger airbags deployed. No airbags deployed in any position in the vehicle. I sustained injuries, including a right shoulder sprain and having the wind knocked out of me, and required medical care. As a result of this crash, my mother developed post-traumatic stress symptoms, including fear of driving and anxiety related to the accident. The component that failed appears to be the Supplemental Restraint System (SRS)/airbag system, which did not deploy in a crash that should have met deployment thresholds. The vehicle is available for inspection upon request. This failure put our safety at risk by leaving us without the primary restraint protection designed to prevent head, chest, and upper body injuries in a high-speed frontal collision. The issue has not yet been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer. The vehicle has been seen by insurance, but no airbag system inspection or explanation has been provided. There were no airbag warning lights or dashboard messages prior to the crash. If there were any faults stored in the system, they were not displayed to the occupants. I believe this is a serious safety defect involving airbag non-deployment.Read more

I purchased this vehicle on December 26, 2025 from an authorized Mercedes-Benz dealership. Shortly after the purchase, I discovered an issue related to the airbag system, which indicates a potential safety defect. At the time of purchase and during the test drive, the vehicle was already turned on, and no warning or disclosure was provided regarding any airbag malfunction or warning message. The
... issue became apparent only after the purchase. I later brought the vehicle in for repairs. While some repairs were performed, the airbag issue was not fixed and remains in the same condition as before. The dealership is now refusing to repair the airbag system at no cost and is insisting that I pay for the repair, despite the fact that this defect appeared immediately after purchase and was never disclosed to me. I believe this represents a serious safety concern, as a malfunctioning airbag system may fail to protect occupants in the event of an accident. I also believe the vehicle was sold to me with an undisclosed safety defect. I am requesting that this issue be formally reviewed and investigated.Read more

My 2011 Volkswagen Tiguan was included in the Volkswagen clock spring safety recall. According to Volkswagen’s records, the recall repair was completed in 2016. The same defect has now reoccurred: the steering wheel controls, horn, and driver airbag are disabled again due to a failed clock spring. This is a reoccurring safety defect that directly affects the airbag system. The airbag warning li

I contacted Volkswagen corporate, and they confirmed that my VIN was included in the original recall and that the repair was performed. However, they are refusing to repair the defect again, stating that the recall is “closed” and the warranty extension has expired, even though the original recall remedy has failed and the safety defect has returned. Volkswagen also declined to provide a written denial. I am reporting this because the recall remedy appears to be inadequate, and the safety defect has not been resolved. The vehicle is unsafe to drive with the airbag disabled. The clock spring failure disables the airbag, horn, and steering‑wheel controls. The defect matches the symptoms described in the original recall. The failure occurred without any modification or damage to the steering wheel area. Volkswagen refuses to authorize a second repair despite the safety risk.Read more
