Louisville Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram. 5311 Dixie Hwy, Louisville, KY 40216. I took my truck into this dealership to have the airbags replaced due to a recall and to have a keyless entry remote programmed. The service tech told me it was going to take a day or two to get the airbags replaced and warned me about possibly breaking my dashboard (without replacement or reimbursement) due to the known cra
... cking dashboards on this truck. I told them to be careful (as the dashboard was in pristine condition) and go ahead with the programming and airbag recall. This was my only ride as I live an hour away, and they did not have a courtesy car for me to use, so they ended up calling an Uber to get me home. A few hours later, I got a text from the service tech saying everything was done and I could come pick up the truck. I asked if everything was done, remote programmed and airbags replaced. They said no...The next day I tried to text the tech to get a ride back to the dealership but no one responded. I called the dealership multiple times and finally got ahold of a person who had no clue what was going on. They then told me that the tech went on vacation and reassigned my truck to another tech. They couldn’t get an Uber back to the dealership, so I ended up driving there with my wife. They gave me a report of the inspection that they did on the truck and it said that the battery terminals were OK even though it has a sheetrock screw holding it in place. On arrival, the truck looked like it wasn't touched. Cover screws still had dust on them and the driver airbag cover was the same. I called them out on it and they reassured me that it was indeed replaced and the driver airbag cover was reused. Many months later I got a Carfax report from this dealership and I looked at it to find out that I still have a passenger airbag recall on the truck. I got a letter also saying I should stop driving the truck because of the airbag recall.Read more

NHTSA Complaint Summary Vehicle: 2025 Hyundai Santa Fe Issue: Airbag non‑deployment in a 40‑mph side‑impact collision On January 20, 2026, my 2025 Hyundai Santa Fe was struck by another motorist directly along the driver side awaiting to make a left turn. The other motorist crossed the centerline at an estimated impact speed of approximately 40 mph, according to the police report. The coll
... ision caused significant damage along the front and entire driver side of the vehicle. Despite the severity and direct nature of the impact, neither the side curtain airbags nor the front airbags deployed. The impact was so much that the other motorist ended up behind my husband in the left turning lane once he stopped. My husband, who was driving, suffered a head abrasion and a concussion from the force of the impact. Since the crash, he has continued to experience persistent headaches and intermittent dizziness when standing, which began immediately after the collision and have not resolved. The lack of airbag deployment in a high‑energy side‑impact crash raises concerns about a potential malfunction in the airbag sensors or side‑impact detection system. This incident presents a significant safety risk, and I am reporting it so NHTSA can evaluate because as I've researched there have been other incidences of similar non‑deployment issues are with 2025 Hyundai Santa Fe vehicles. I can provide photos, the police report, medical documentation, and repair estimates upon request.Read more

The vehicle involved is a Chevrolet Silverado 1500. During a collision, the vehicle sustained a front-left (driver-side) impact which caused it to spin and subsequently strike the rear. Despite the severity of the initial impact and secondary rear collision, the Supplemental Restraint System (SRS), including the front and side airbags, did not deploy. The failure of the airbag system increased th
... e risk of injury to all occupants, including a minor child. Without deployment of the front or side airbags during a front-left impact and secondary rear collision, occupants were exposed to direct impact forces that airbags are designed to help mitigate. There were no airbag or SRS warning lights, dashboard messages, or other indications of a malfunction prior to the collision. The concern regarding the airbag system arose only after the incident occurred. Following the collision, the vehicle was inspected by law enforcement and insurance representatives, and documentation is available. Subject VIN sits in database as completed for Takata Airbag replacement completion during previous Passenger Air Bag NHTSA Recall; however, recent "Do Not Drive" warnings that include this year model now state that Driver Side Airbag has also been determined to now need replacement. Having been on the telephone for numerous telephone calls over this past week with Dodge's Takata Airbag Team, Dodg
... er Service Departments, and NHTSA to inquire about what next actions I should take with the well-advertised "Do Not Drive" warning through a variety of media channels to include my 2014 Dodge Challenger have been frustrating at best. The ineptitude and inaction to move on this recall, reclassify vehicles as having an outstanding recall if both Passenger Airbags Assemblies (Driver- and Passenger- sides) have not been replaced. A requirement for the manufacturer (in this case, Dodge) to streamline complimentary towing of the unsafe vehicle to a dealership with a service department (while also ensuring respective Airbag assemblies are in repair parts inventory with technicians trained to conduct replacement maintenance correctly), and afford a complimentary temporary vehicle to use during day-to-day living until the reparations are executed to render the vehicle safe again and that vehicle is returned to the owner. The ineptitude to date by manufacturer (Dodge) and NHTSA to this juncture is unfathomable. All parties need recalibration and competency should be paramount in this safety crisis of the Takata Airbag debacle. Wake up . . . . immediately, if not sooner and get it all in one sock folks! The vehicle was taken to Southpoint Dodge in Austin, Texas under recall in March 2019 and had the Passenger Side Airbag replaced under the recall at that time; however, the Driver Side Airbag was not of concern when that recall was executed and the Driver Side Airbag is still stock from the manufacturing assembly line when the vehicle first became available for sale in late 2013.Read more

Airbag System Failure Warning - Dealer is unable to diagnose The ford pass app alerted me that my airbag system was not functioning and instructed me to not drive the vehicle and to have it towed to a dealership. ... e that the problem had persisted for a couple of days prior and was concerned that I just found out about it. Naturally the day I took it in the light went off. The technician looked at it for over a day and ultimately said they could not determine the cause. They then advised me to continue driving the vehicle and only return when the warning appears again. I called Ford to get their take on this problem and to ask for help, and I got the same response, that there is nothing that the dealer can do unless the light is actively on. This contradicts fords own safety warning and leaves me driving a vehicle that may have a non-functional airbag system. I am reporting this because it appears to be a potential safety defect, and the dealership was unable to repair it. I am not sure if this is a defect of the airbag system itself, or the system that monitors the safety of the vehicle. If there is a couple days of specific warnings that ford and the dealer has access too, I wouldn't think that they would need the light to be actively on for diagnosis. I have attached a screenshot the warning in the ford pass app, however it will no longer let me view details that I had before, just the occurrence and warning name.Read more

Most importantly, there were no visible skid marks or braking marks on the pavement after the accident, which strongly indicates that the braking system did not engage as it should have. Any properly functioning vehicle under full brake application would normally leave visible braking evidence on the roadway. This did not occur. The impact was severe and resulted in extensive frontal damage, yet no airbags deployed, which further intensifies the concern regarding multiple safety system failures. This incident placed my life, the lives of my family members traveling with me, and the lives of others on the road at extreme risk. While there were no fatalities, there were minor injuries and significant emotional trauma, particularly for my [XXX] daughter, who is now fearful of riding in a vehicle. A suv entering a intersection ahead of me, ( i dont have a stop or yield sign, but they do) the suv never stops, rolling into the intersection, as im entering the intersection at 55 mph. I tried avoidance at last second to no avail. My front drivers corner smashed the middle, passenger side of the other suv. My Jeep continues to the
... right, uncontrollable, stops in someone's front yard, engine still running. The other car swerved to the left, still on the road, rolling on its side. My airbags never deployed, i didnt even get any lights on the dash, i had to shut the engine off. Not one airbag deployed, and nothing even recognized there was something wrong. This car is supposed to have all options for airbags, yet a collision at highway speed, with post wreck travel of less than 50 feet, and not one single air bag deployed. I very literally could have died right there. I honestly dont know how i didn't.Read more
