I am experiencing the airbag issue described in the recall campaign. The passenger seat airbag warning light goes off constantly. Current "solution" is to not use the passenger seat until a repair can be made... however it has been nearly 6 months without any updates.
Incident date: Aug 3, 2023
Vehicle was sitting, not driven and parked for a couple days, got into the car and the saw the front passenger headrest airbag had deployed. Vehicle has not been in an accident or been damaged.
Incident date: Aug 23, 2023
The automatic occupant detection system sensor no longer registers if a passenger is sitting in the front passenger seat, thus the front passenger’s frontal airbag is not turned on when driving with a passenger in the front seat.

Driver and Passenger side seat belt pretensioners failed and have resulted in airbags being inoperable.

The air bag system light comes on, the code is B0020 - Side A/B module LH, and I am able to reset the system with a code scanner. The light goes out and operates normally for a few days or weeks, then without warning the A/B illuminates again for no apparent reason. I understand this is not a component problem but a wiring issue. I have read that the path the wire harness takes from the connect
... or under the driver's seat to the side air bag device has two tight pinch point bends causing the wiring to intermittently break the connection causing the A/B light to come on and shut off the system. The fix, I understand, is to replace the driver's seat back at a cost of $1,600. Why isn't there a recall on this? From what I see on the web this seems to be a common problem to this vehicle. This is not a wear and tear issue or abuse, the vehicle owner has not done anything to cause the wiring problem. The problem was built into the vehicle when it was manufactured by the routing of the wiring. I understand the problem will continue until the wiring fully breaks inside the wiring insulation covering and it can no longer be reset. Since this is a safety issue causing the A/B system not to operate properly why hasn't there been a push to get the manufacturer to own up to the error and repair the vehicle at no cost or offer a substantial discount. I am not sure how many vehicles have been affected and many owners may have a difficult time justifying this expense to a 9 year old vehicle for an issue they had no control. Can NHTSA offer advice or assistance with pushing for owner cost relief from the manufacturer?Read more

Airbag fault lamp illuminated. Trouble code U0433 stored in body module (CEM). The problem described is with the closing velocity module, a component of the collision mitigation system. There is a TSB available from Volvo for this code, reference number US25146.1.1. It states a software update must be performed to resolve the error. My complaint is that the airbag system is affected and shows an a
... irbag fault lamp, which prevents passing vehicle inspection in my state. The collision avoidance system can be turned off by the driver. As such, there is no cause for disabling or otherwise negatively affecting the airbag system in the event of a fault. A remedy is not provided free of charge from Volvo, and it should be so as this issue prevents legal operation of the car despite the affected system (collision mitigation) being designed to be turned off by the user.Read more

I work for a body shop and we took this seat out in order to replace the frame underneath. While the seat was sitting on the ground, no one near it, the airbag deployed. We have it on video. We have concerns about replacing the seat/airbag if it's going to randomly deploy and potentially injure our technician or the customer. According to Mazda, there are no known recalls related to this and the c
... ustomer is responsible for buying a new seat and airbag. I see online that other people have said this too, but they were driving the vehicle at the time it randomly deployed. I'm wondering if there are other complaints regarding this/a way for us to get Mazda to replace this since it seems like a part defect.Read more

The Air bag system on a 2018 Infiniti Q50 AWD is malfunctioning. I’d like to get it checked out especially if this could be a tentative recall issue for myself and other owners of the same vehicle. I feel very unsafe for my family and I because the system was never tampered with, yet the light used to go away randomly. Currently, the light is permanently on, and passenger airbag light states th

This problem was not addressed with a dealer or any other service center. The vehicle has never been inspected yet, but it is a concern that I’d like to move forward on. The passenger airbag light is illuminated on my dashboard as well as the light depicting that the system is off. This car is having tons of electrical issues. From wire malfunctions in the radio to the ORC module failing. All lights for air bags, abs breaks, check engine, and everything electrical are beeping and flashing. The air bags will not work if I get in an accident and I've read they can deploy at any time while I am driving! If you look online, Chrysler/Jeep has LOTS of ORC failure issues and have
... even recalled for this for it before. This issue should be covered for until at least 100k miles. Some people have had this ORC module fail at as little as 18k miles. I still have 2 warranties on this car and not one covers it. Chrysler/Jeep should be responsible for fixing this. It is a risk to to peoples lives. I'm not understanding why this is still an issue in 2023 with no penalties to Chrysler/Jeep when it's been happening for over 10 years!? I'm hoping writing this will add one more person to the lost of issues Jeep has so something can be done about it.Read more
