Greenway CDJR in Florence Alabama did the T33 airbag recall on my Grand Caravan. In addition to not having a driver side airbag now I also don't have a horn as it is part of the assembly. The sleeve is supposed to be 6mm. It was cut short.Read more

The local dealer also gave misinformation about the recall and when I asked they told me they didn't know. I called VW customer service and was told my car is in wave 3. I asked for reasoning about why my car is in wave 3 and they couldn't give any explanation. When I asked when wave 3 repairs would be available, they didn't have an answer. I was told wave 1 and wave 2 had started but there was no ETA for wave 3 to start and to not use the front passenger seat. This car is our family car. We have enough seatbelts in the car for each person in the family. We have been told for close to 6 months now not to use our primary mode of transportation with no reasoning on why we are in wave 3 and no estimate for a repair to be made. I requested to speak with a supervisor and was denied. I also reached out through the Facebook page of VW and received similar information. 2019 Jeep Cherokee with only 35,000 miles. There was a recall previously for lateral acceleration sensors that covered over 40,000 2019 Cherokees. This vehicle is affected with the same problem, but I’m being told that because the VIN doesn’t fall in a particular range it is not covered. The repair could end up being extremely expensive due to the labor required to repair the defective sensor.
... The car displays multiple warnings that Electronic Stability Control and 4WD are unavailable. Codes pulled revealed one fault code, C0061 which is for the lateral acceleration sensor which also is tied into the airbag system. Recall V63 (NHTSA 19V-449) issued in August 2019 is related to this exact issue. There are numerous reports of the same problem occurring with other 2019 Jeep Cherokees on Jeep owner forums. Jeep should have expanded the recall to cover this known defect.Read more

I scheduled service appointments with Right Toyota on August 23rd and October 15th, 2023, after learning about the recall. Each time, I was told that there was no remedy available, and I was not offered any alternative solutions or a loaner vehicle. Toyota’s Brand Engagement Team later confirmed that a remedy for my specific vehicle is not expected until March 2026. 3. I called Right Toyota back after the manufacturer told me the dealership was meant to solve this issue by offering me a loaner vehicle or buying my car off me. I spoke to Jason Murdoch who informed it was preposterous to think they would offer me a loaner vehicle until 2026 and that the only option he could offer is buying my car off me 8K negative on what I still owe on my car loan. He told me the dealerships hands were tied unless NHTSA or the manufacturer gave specific instructions for me. 4. I have since relocated to Hawaii, where I cannot use the vehicle due to safety concerns. I am still making loan payments on a car that I cannot drive, and Right Toyota’s refusal to offer any assistance has placed me in a difficult situation. Dear National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, I am writing to formally express my concern about the ongoing recall on my 2024 Volkswagen Atlas due to a faulty airbag issue. This recall, which I was notified of in June 2024, has yet to be resolved, and Volkswagen has not provided any timeline for a fix. This unresolved issue is significantly impacting my family’s safety and quality of lif
... e. As this is our only vehicle, we rely on it daily to transport our children to school and ourselves to work. However, I am deeply anxious every time we drive it, especially with my husband in the passenger seat, knowing that Volkswagen cannot guarantee the airbags will function properly in the event of a crash. I contacted Volkswagen directly and asked for reassurance regarding the safety of the airbags, but they were unable to confirm that the system would not pose a danger in an accident. To make matters worse, Volkswagen has offered no support—such as a loaner vehicle or temporary replacement—despite the serious nature of the recall. Selling the vehicle is also not an option, as the unresolved recall renders it practically unsellable. This situation has left me feeling trapped and worried for my family’s safety. I respectfully urge the NHTSA to investigate this matter further and ensure Volkswagen addresses this recall with the urgency it demands. Families like mine should not be left in limbo for months on end with no resolution in sight. Thank you for your time and attention to this critical safety issue.
