On September, 21 2024 I scheduled an appointment with the Tesla Service Center for the “Front Row Curtain Airbag” recall to be performed. October 30th, I took my 2022 Model X Plaid to the Tesla Service Center for the recall work to be performed. During the repair, their service technician BROKE-OFF an anchor nut that secures the airbag to the A-pillar. The advisor said in order to “fix” i
... t they would need to take the car to a body shop to have a “new” anchor nut welded onto the A-pillar. I was told this repair would require cutting open the A-pillar to access the location where the nut should be welded. Cutting the A-pillar will compromise the structural integrity of the vehicle's roof. And retrofitting a new mounting point for the side curtain airbag will compromise the effectiveness of the airbag in the event of an accident. The manufacturer's airbag recall "fix" does not involve cutting open the A-pillar to weld in a new mounting point for the vehicle's airbag. Performing the airbag recall in this manner creates a greater safety issue for my vehicle. Therefore, this "recall repair" should not be allowed to be performed on my vehicle.Read more

I am writing to file a formal complaint regarding a manufacturing defect in my vehicle and the refusal by Toyota to honor its responsibilities for repair despite clear acknowledgment of the issue. In October 2024, I discovered a small water leak from the roof of my vehicle. I attempted to schedule an appointment with the nearest Toyota dealer, but the timing of their available appointments confli
... cted with my work schedule, and it was not possible for me to get a timely appointment. In an effort to mitigate the leak, I tried to fix it myself until I could get the vehicle to the dealership. Upon visiting the dealership, I was informed that the issue was a manufacturing defect, but they refused to repair my vehicle because I had attempted to fix the issue myself. This worsened the leak, as they did not return my vehicle to its original condition. I was then informed that I would have to bear the full cost of repairs. I had no prior knowledge of any recall associated with my vehicle. After conducting my own research, I discovered that Toyota had acknowledged the manufacturing defect affecting my vehicle model but had not notified me or issued a recall. I reached out to Toyota’s customer service, and they assured me that they would approve the repair through the dealership. However, after approximately a month of waiting, Toyota informed me that they would not cover the costs of the repair, and they declined to take any further responsibility.Read more

This complaint involves the failure of the ABS Control Module. Upon starting the car, audible warnings as well as dash warning lights indicate urgent brake failure, ABS failure, Airbag failure and stability control failure. In my particular case, the rear brake calipers do not activate fully when braking resulting in increased stopping distance. Vehicle was scanned at dealer on 11/16/24 indicatin
... g failure of ABS Control Module. Repair estimate, $5379. This is apparently a common issue when searching on-line VW forums. The ABS Module was the subject of a recall for 2009 and 2010 models but appears to still affect later model years. VW is forcing its customers to choose between an exorbitant repair bill or driving an unsafe vehicle knowing they have installed defective modules. Dealer states unable to predict future brake and other issues if not repaired. Evidence of how common this problem occurs is their own admission that the parts are back ordered.Read more
