I am reporting a deliberate misrepresentation of vehicle status regarding Recall 292. On April 9, 2026, I brought my vehicle to Bud Clary Auburn Hyundai, for recall services, a safety concern with the 3rd row seat. I was told recall 292 had no remedy. I did not feel comfortable putting my kids back there knowing the airbags are recalled. It was officially grounded due to the side curtain airbag sa
... fety defect. The dealership has generated a Repair Order (RO) that falsely claims I departed in the vehicle on that same day. This is a material misrepresentation of fact. The vehicle was not released to me; it remained grounded and in the dealership's physical possession because it was deemed unsafe to drive. Evidence of Falsification: The dealership's claim that I left in the vehicle is physically impossible and contradicts their own actions. I have a written email from the Service Manager acknowledging that a dealership employee personally drove me home on April 9th because the vehicle was grounded. Motivation and Impact: This falsification appears to be a bad-faith attempt to manipulate the "days out of service" count required for eligibility under the Washington State Lemon Law. By documenting a departure that never occurred, the dealer is attempting to "stop the clock" on a safety-related grounding. Reporting inaccurate possession data on a vehicle under a federal safety recall compromises the integrity of the NHTSA’s recall tracking system.Read more

The affected component appears to be the rear seat / seat track recall system. I took my Toyota vehicle to the dealership / repair center in approximately October 2025 for recall-related repair, and the vehicle was then kept there for months. During that time, I was deprived of the use of the vehicle while continuing to make lease payments. I repeatedly contacted the repair center for updates but
... was not provided a clear repair completion date. Toyota and the dealership later claimed that the recall had been repaired only after the stated 60-day buyback review period had expired, yet NHTSA’s VIN lookup still showed the same recall as unrepaired for my vehicle. No credible current documentation was provided showing the exact recall repair completion date or the work performed. Under these circumstances, I am not comfortable accepting return of the vehicle. My children ride in the rear seat, and because this recall involves the seat / seat track area, I cannot reasonably be expected to trust the vehicle without clear proof that the recall repair was properly completed. I have also experienced a serious accident in the past, which makes this issue even more concerning to me. At this point, I have lost confidence in Toyota’s handling of this matter. I am seeking repurchase of the vehicle and fair final resolution.Read more

... eryone in our vehicle due to the powder or smoke that comes out causing a visual obstruction of the road, and the sudden unexpected deployment that scared my wife at the exit of a curve. Thankfully, she kept control of the vehicle and did not collide or wreck in to anything. I still called for the North Carolina Highway Patrol due to the incident that happened. The Trooper explained to us that he could not do a wreck report because, there was no collision. He did however do something different and provided us with a copy of it. Due to this, the insurance company totaled the vehicle and forced us to find a different vehicle. I am unsure if this vehicle was inspected afterwards by anyone other than the insurance company. Prior to this incident there were no warning lights or messages stating there was a problem. After the incident, several messages popped on the screen referencing several safety systems on the vehicle and the tire pressure system on the passenger side front tire.
