FIRST INCIDENT WAS THE DRIVERS SIDE AREA UNDER THE DASHBOARD FILLING WITH AT LEAST TWO INCHES OF WATER THAT HAD TO BE DRAINED. ALL WINDOWS AND HOODS WERE UP AND SECURE IN BOTH INSTANCES. SECOND COMPLAINT WHILE DRIVING THE AIR BAG LIGHT CAME ON AND ALL GUAGES DROPPED TO ZERO WHILE DRIVING AT 55 MPH.

SEVERAL MONTHS AFTER PURCHASE THE VEHICLE STARTED MAKING THIS POPPING OR CRACKING SOUND AT LOW SPEEDS AND ON SIDE TO SIDE MOVEMENTS AND ON UNEVEN TERRAIN. DEALER HAS NOT FOUND THE CAUSE BUT YET CHANGED ALL SHOCK ABSORBERS AND FINALLY INFORMED ME IT WAS DESIGN FLAW FOR 96 MODELS - CHASSIS AND BODY - WILL SEND ME A BULLETIN BUT NEVER RECEIVED ONE. THE NOISE PERSIST AND MUCH LOUDER.

FIREWALL TRANSFERS A SIGNIFICANT PORTION OF THE FORCES AND IS THEREFORE SUBJECT TO STRESS WHICH CAUSES FAILURE OF THE FIREWALL/STRUCTURE DUE TO ITS INADEQUATE DESIGN.
