The contact later experienced the same failure while driving approximately 60 MPH on the freeway, and the steering wheel erroneously turned to the right, causing the contact to lose control of the steering wheel and causing the vehicle to drive to the right and off the road, nearly crashing into a wall. The contact regained control of the steering wheel and continued driving to the residence. During the drive to the residence, the steering wheel continued to malfunction and erroneously turned to the right. The contact forcibly held the steering wheel while driving. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer, who was unable to identify a failure; however, the dealer deactivated the Lane Departure feature.
